How much does counselling cost?

  • $120/ 50 min session
  • In some instances, based on your unique situation, financial need and my availability, at times I may be able to offer a sliding scale and reduce this fee even further if needed. This can be discussed further at your initial phone consultation.
  • Payment can be made by cash, cheque, e-transfer, credit card or debit. Payment is due at the end of the session.
  • You will be provided with a receipt at that time to submit to your extended health provider for reimbursement if applicable.

Is counselling covered by my Extended Health Plan?

  • This depends on your coverage. Many plans do offer some coverage for a Registered Clinical Counsellor or Registered Psychologist through their extended benefits or EAP (Employment Assistance Program). Receipts will be provided and may be submitted to your extended health plan for re-imbursement.

What is the cancellation policy?

  • Please note that we require at least 24 hours notice for a cancellation or re-scheduling of an appointment to avoid being charged for the session.

Is everything that is talked about during our sessions kept confidential?

  • Confidentiality is at the core of the therapeutic relationship. Information that is shared with your counsellor is kept in strict confidence. No information will be shared without your written or verbal consent.
  • The legal and ethical exceptions are:
    1.   If you are in danger of seriously hurting yourself or someone else.
    2.   When the abuse of a vulnerable person has been disclosed.
    3.   If counselling records are subpoenaed by court order.
